I like to read because when turning the pages of a book or listening to an audiobook you are engaged in a conversation with the characters and author that can span decades, even hundreds of years. There lies wisdom in those pages and passages and if I want to get the most out of my reading experience I like to note down any pertinent or impactful quotes.

Now, for my own use I just use the quote feature in Notion and create a long page of quote after quote after quote. I like this, it is a stream of knowledge. I can return to it, not looking for anything in particular besides inspiration or wisdom. The quotes are in the order I recorded them, perhaps showing a progression or a thought process through time. This works for me because I don’t clutter it with too many quotes. You can create links to other pages if you want to dive off on a tangent.

If you like to organise and search your quotes based on themes or topic then I have also created a quote system using a table. You record the author, the quotation text, and then you select some appropriate tags. Use those tags to create filtered views and organise your quotes for easy future access and reference.
